Visit the Venice Biennale 2022
A day trip to Venice is an excellent opportunity to visit one of the most important contemporary art exhibitions in the world. Indeed, the 2022 edition of the famous Venice Biennale hosts the 59th International Art Exhibition, held from 23 April to 27 November 2022.
The event, which first took place in 1895, has always been known for its multidisciplinary model and for livening up the city with an enjoyable artistic and cultural ferment that we suggest you experience firsthand.
Exhibitions and events make the period from spring to autumn particularly lively, especially in the two main historical locations of the event: the Biennale Gardens and the Arsenale.
Biennale 2022: “The Milk of Dreams”
The 2022 edition, curated by Cecilia Alemani, is characterized by a very evocative title, borrowed from a book by Leonora Carrington: “The milk of dreams”. In her fairy tales, the surrealist writer describes a magical world in which life is continually reinvented thanks to the power of imagination.
This year’s event represents a real renaissance after the pandemic period and brings to light reflections and thoughts developed by artists over the last few years, related to new possibilities of transformation and metamorphosis.
Biennale 2022 in numbers
The exhibition takes place in the Central Pavilion in the Biennale Gardens and in the Arsenale, including 213 artists from 58 countries. There are 26 Italian artists, 180 first participations in the International Exhibition, 1433 artworks exhibited and 80 new productions.
The Exposition is enriched by 80 National Participations in the historic Pavilions in the Gardens, in the Arsenale and in the historic center of Venice.
There are 5 countries joining the Biennale for the first time: the Republic of Cameroon, Namibia, Nepal, the Sultanate of Oman and Uganda.
